Kristin Jordan is dedicated to creating safe and nurturing therapeutic spaces for women. In particular, she is passionate about helping women navigate the intricate emotions surrounding loss—whether it stems from the death of a loved one, the loss of a sense of safety, the disappointment of unfulfilled dreams, the end of a significant career, a broken promise, a lost relationship, or the weight of personal regrets.
Kristin's goal is to allow her clients to explore their feelings of grief and loss without judgment, and while integrating mindfulness techniques, expressive arts, and narrative therapy to facilitate healing. Kristin earned her bachelor's degree in Africana Studies from Brown University, where her research focused on the intersections of race, gender, and resilience. She is now a practicum student counselor specializing in grief, complex grief, and loss.
Kristin believes that grief is not a linear process but a deeply personal journey that can be influenced by a multitude of factors, including societal expectations, personal history, and cultural background. This perspective shapes her compassionate, person-centered therapeutic approach.
Through empathetic listening, reflective dialogue, and guided exploration, Kristin helps her clients narrate their own stories, allowing them to process their emotions and rediscover their sense of self. In addition to her counseling work, Kristin has facilitated workshops and support groups fostering community and connection among women who share similar experiences. She is committed to promoting mental wellness, resilience, and the reclamation of personal narrative. She uses education and empowerment to help her clients navigate their grief journeys with grace, compassion, and a growth mindset of possibility, healing, and hope.
When she's not working, Kristin enjoys swimming, practicing meditation, watching movies, spending time with her family, and reading romance novels. She believes in both self-care and community care as an essential part of the healing process and encourages her clients to find joy in the little things, even amidst their struggles.
